Our bed is where we spend a lot of time every day. Keeping the bed and mattress clean can prevent exposure to germs,

bacteria and dust mites which are hidden in the mattress and can have a major effect on our health.

Today, I’m introducing simple tips on how to clean your bed and mattress so you can have a sound sleep every night without worrying about germs.

Step 1: Change and wash your bedclothes, pillow cases and blankets every week. Drying them in strong sunlight is a good way to get rid of all the germs.

Step 2: Vacuum your mattress and bed and make sure you reach corners. This will help get rid of germs, fungus and dust mites which can cause health problems.

Step 3: Clean stains on the bed and mattress by using a toothbrush or a sponge with water mixed with soap or dishwashing liquid. Select a soap and dishwashing liquid that do not contain strong chemicals or ingredients that can cause skin irritation.

Although this cleaning method cannot completely remove all the stains, it can help your mattress look cleaner.

Step 4: Put your pillows and blankets out to dry in sunlight every week to get rid of bad odours. Since the mattress is too heavy to take out to dry in the sunlight regularly, you should place your bed and mattress near a window where it can occasionally be exposed to sunlight.

Make sure to clean you bed and mattress regularly. This can extend the life of your mattress and improve your sleep quality.
