Homemade sanitizers for fighting COVID-19. When hand sanitizers are in short supply, these items will save help your life.
It is unfortunate that in time of the coronavirus crisis (COVID-19) the most sought-after items are the hardest to find. They are often very expensive when you do find them, or worse still, they are fake. That’s right. There are fake sanitizing products out there. Be careful when you buy them or, if you ask me, I think it is best that we make them ourselves and share them with our family. These sanitizing solutions aren’t my own, of course, they belong to a dermatologist Dr. Atinuch Duangkaew at Mae Fah Luang University who has shared them with all Thai people to help fight COVID-19.
Solution 1
The main ingredient is Dettol (the mild-on-skin type has a crown on the label.)
Directions:
- • Add 97 ml. of water to a spray bottle.
- • Add 3 ml. of Dettol.
- • Mix well.
* Dettol contains a 0.12% concentration of Chloroxylenol which kills the coronavirus within a minute.
Solution 2
The main ingredient is Haiter because Haiter contains Sodium Hypochlorite of which only 0.01% in concentration can kill the coronavirus within a minute.
Directions:
- • Use 99 ml. of water.
- • Add 1 ml. Of Haiter.
- • Mix well.
*Be careful with this solution because Haiter is harmful to the skin. Use this for surfaces. It is not recommended to apply to skin directly.
Solution 3
The main ingredient in this solution is Hydrogen Peroxide 6%, of which a concentration of 0.5% can kill the coronavirus within a minute.
Directions:
- • Use 91 ml. of water.
- • Add 9 ml. of Hydrogen Peroxide 6%
- • Mix well.
*Hydrogen Peroxide 6% is generally used as a medical sanitizer and as an ingredient in tooth-whitening in dentistry. Therefore, this is safe for contact with the skin and it kills the coronavirus within a minute.
