Getting a health check is a good way to begin your year. Subscribers to the Social Security Fund are eligible for free health checkups. The health checkup covered by the Social Security program varies depending on the age of the subscriber.
These are the details of free health screenings available for Social Security subscribers.
Organ Function Tests
- Finger rub auditory screening test: once a year for subscribers aged above 15.
- Breast cancer screening by doctor or medical staff: once every three years for subscribers aged between 30 – 39, once a year for subscribers aged between 40 – 54 and a frequency based on the individual’s risk level for subscribers aged 55 and above.
- Eye examination by ophthalmologist: once a year for subscribers aged between 40 – 54 and once every 1 – 2 year for subscribers aged 55 and above.
- Visual acuity testing (Snellen chart): once a year for subscribers aged 55 and above.
Laboratory Tests
- Complete blood count (CBC) test: once for subscribers aged between 18 – 54 and once a year for subscribers aged between 55 – 70.
- Cretinine (CR) test: once a year
- Total & HDL cholesterol test: once every five years for subscribers aged 20 and above.
Other Tests
- Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg) Test: once for subscribers born before 1992.
- Pap smear for cervical cancer screening: once every three years for subscribers aged between 30 – 54 and frequency based on individual’s risk for subscribers aged 55 and above.
- Visual inspection of the cervix with acetic acid (VIA): once every five years for subscribers aged between 30 – 54, and subscribers aged 55 and above are advised to do a pap smear.
- Fecal occult blood test (FOBT): once a year for subscribers aged 50 and above. Chest X-ray: once a year for subscribers aged 15 and above.

- Chest x-ray, 15 years and older, 1 time
Dental Treatment
The Social Security program offers Bt900 annual dental coverage. Subscribers can receive dental treatment without advance payment at 535 public and private hospitals across the country.
